The Team

Brett Oaten:
Brett is the principal of the firm, and advises clients in the music and entertainment industries, as well as handling general intellectual property and commercial work. Brett started the firm in 1992 and has, in the period since then, represented many of Australia’s leading artists, independent labels and film producers. Brett has written about music for Rolling Stone, the Drum Media and other publications and is a life member of radio station FBI. He has no musical ability whatsoever.

David Orwell:
Dave is a solicitor with the firm, and advises clients in the music and entertainment industries, as well as handling general intellectual property and commercial work.  Dave has previously worked at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, as Creative Manager for four years, and before that at Sydney law firm Allens Arthur Robinson.  Dave is also a musician and songwriter and has played in Sydney bands Oliver, Knievel and Golden Rough.

Robyn Bradshaw:
Robyn is a solicitor with the firm, and advises clients in the music and entertainment industries as well as handling general intellectual property and commercial work. Robyn  started working in the entertainment industry in 1995 in the business affairs department of BMG Records in London (before it became Sony BMG), and she then worked in a specialist music and entertainment law firm until returning to Australia.

Julia Kosky:
Julia is a solicitor with the firm, and advises clients in the music and entertainment industries, as well as handling general intellectual property and commercial work.  Julia has been running her own management company, Brighton Boulevard Productions, for the past eight years and before that was at Sydney law firm Gilbert + Tobin.  Julia is also the secretary of the board of FBi Radio and artist manager to singer/songwriter Andy Bull and producer Tony Buchen.

Mary is a solicitor with the firm, and undertakes conveyancing for clients who wish to buy or sell property in New South Wales.
